Need help to Id Photo's of 2 solders
Hello all,I am new here.
I wanted to see if anyone could help me Identify this photo of a German Solder.I got it from a website about a year ago and I wanted more information about the solder or the photo.
I am pretty sure that he is SS,But I do not know which division.Which is why I posted it here. Also,The Research area's sub-area's did not fit the question. So if this is not the right area,Please move it to the correct area.
So can anyone tell me information about this photo? Or the solder? Or the website it came from? Anything at all would be great.
Thanks.

This photo also came from another website and I wanted to know more information about it.
It is an SS solder,I can tell from the symbol. And It also looks like it might of been used for some type of propaganda poster or something like that because of the coloring and way it was taken.
So any information on the photo it'self or the particular solder would be great.

The second photo is of a Bad Tölz collar insignia.
The Bad Tölz collar patch (this is the first pattern shown), was worn by candidates and personnel of the Bad Tölz SS officer training establishment in Bavaria.
The patch was worn in aluminium thread for officers and enlisted men, but according to Angolia's 'Cloth Insignia of the SS', it was also produced for enlisted men in silver grey thread.

Truffelschwein:
Both pictures are SS propaganda photos (photo of the pink-skinned blond guy in the SS dress uniform has been cited as an example of a "perfect" Aryan specimen.) . Thus, if you want to find out who the soldiers were, you need to start researching the photos origins as SS propaganda.
The photos have been reproduced in various books. Look up the photo credits in the book - it's likely that the photo collection (e.g. Berlin Document Center) will be cited. You also may be able to find the orginal publication data and source (e.g. May 1941 issue of "Das Schwartz Korps")
However, if the soldiers names are not listed in the original document, (and there is a very good chance they are not) then the identity of the two men will be extremely difficult to determine.
The men most likely were killed during the war, or have since died. What does it matter anyway? Why do these 2 propaganda photos interest you so much?
