Hey Kristijan, do you think that you might be able to post somemore of your BUF collection? I would quite enjoy seeing them.
Also, do you know if any of the old membership lists of the BUF have ever turned up? I imagine that they were seized by MI5 as WW2 started, is it possible to track down the membership lists of certain BUF branches? I would like to get copies of the ones that contain the names of BUF men who later joined the BFC. Thanks for any help or leads.

About BUF membership lists,I guess that 'Friends of Oswald Mosley' still have at least some parts of that lists,but I don't think that they would post ex-members names.Big injustice was made to those men.They were proclaimed traitors just because they were against the war,althrough first British casualties were Blackshirts(see Roll of Honourt list on http://www.oswaldmosley.com ).Many families were destroyed just because they didn't agree with Churchill's way of thinking.Thing that impresses me most is that 99% of those men,after all they went through,stayed loyal to Oswald Mosley till the day that they died!
If you want list of those BUF men that later joined the BFC,you can go to Bill Medland site: http://www.bills-bunker.privat.t-online.de/4579.html .This is great site with lots of informations about BUF and BFC.You will notice that there are less than 7% of BFC men that were in some part of their lives also members of British Union of Fascists.

Bin reading your posts here ...quite interesting pictures ,so I dug out the "old" book of mine by David R. Shermer : Blackshirts Fascism in Britain 1971, 1st printing June 1971 , Ballantine Books . Cover color but inside all picture black and white and of poor quality !
I do not have any of your above pictured collectible items and not familiar with them , but looking at the pictures notice that the BUF belt , buckle and armband are quite different from the book, ... I am assuming there were different types then , ...correct ?? Just currious about it .

Mosley tie
Thanks very much Kristijan and Claymore for sharing items from your collection. I've attached a photo of a genuine 1980's Mosley 'Union Movement' tie. This isn't mine but I have the owners permission to post the pic.

Nice tie, very chic!
I also have a couple of pieces from the 1980's which have the Flash & Circle emblem but I consider these more of a 'in memory' style of collectable. The UM had practically faded away by this time and anything produced during that period was more along the lines of 'remember Mosley' style mementos, but then again the tie may well be official, its just so difficult to know for sure unless you speak to an ex-UM member.

The picture quality in the book is rather poor though, but it does serve to give a beginners insight into this subject. It not only covers the BUF, it gives a bit about the background of the other fasicst parties of the time, i.e, the British Fascists, the Imperial Fascist League, etc
Yes, you are correct in your observation that many items shown here will differ from what you have seen in the book. There were so many official and 'semi-official' items made that it is sometimes difficult to know for sure what is acceptable. The 'semi-official' items can vary between very well made to not so good home made, but all would be welcome in this type of collection especially if there is photographic proof to back it up.
The new book mentioned in this thread - 'Mosleys Men In Black' by John Millican - is the most eagerly anticipated book on this subject and has been long in production and will surely be the most informative book about these collectables.
