Hi,

I'm looking for info on this grouping. This is what I have so far:

Fla Zug 52 (from 24/12/42 until 28/2/43), AKA Führer FlaK Gruppe (of FBB)
Stosstruppe Dahl

Pi Reg Stab zbV 680
Pi Bn 741
Italian remnants
Alarm units

Lineage:

12/42 – GebJg Reg 144 is railed to the area of Millerovo. Unit is ordered to defend the supply depots of the city at all costs.

20/12/42 – parts of SS KG Schuldt (1., parts of 2., 4. coys, VII./LSSAH) are cut off of main unit and retreat to Millerovo. Unit is made reserve of Gr. Kreysing as Stosstruppe Dahl.

21/12/42 – Art Abt 934, Art Abt 935, Pi Reg Stab zbV 680, Pi Bn 741 are in subordination to the unit.

23/12/42 – Soviet forces reach and attack Millerovo. Unit is made part of freshly formed A-A Fretter-Pico.

24/12/42 – Fla Zug 52 (Böhrend, 20 mm Fla Zug) is attached to grouping.

25/12/42 – the Soviet forces encircle Millerovo and the Gr. Kreysing.

15/1/43 – orders received to destroy depots and break through to the west.

16/1/43 – unit starts breakthrough from the city.

18/1/43 – unit reaches own lines at Voroshilovgrad and is inserted into frontline there immediately.

1/2/43 – parts of 298. Inf Div attached to unit under command of Hptm Müller are sent back to parent unit.

27/2/43 – XXX. AK, PzAOK 1

28/2/43 – Fla Zug 52 is detached from unit.

30/2/43 – Stosstruppe Dahl (1 coy, 1 105 mm gun, 2 AT guns) rejoins SS Brig Schuldt.

28/3/43 – full 3. Geb Div is reunited at the Mius line.
Info is my compilation. Any input is welcome.

There is a good deal of information about this "unit" in the book "Last Victory in Russia." You may be able to order it through your library if they don't have it. It costs about $40. but it is readily available on the internet.

Abel, there are some postings on my 8th Cavalry Corps thread. The last one seems to be very accurate.

Did I tell you "thanks" for all your help?

My father did not talk much about his experiences of the winter of 1942-43. He definately liked the Crimea, but Leningrad, Rzhev and Voroshilovgrad were not to his liking --- too cold! That is wehere he learned to eat horsemeat!
