That's correct. Fierce fighting in spring 1944.
Greg gave complete answer, but Sean guessed it right sooner, so the next question comes from Mr. No one!

Not sure if I deserved that, but anyway, here comes a nitty gritty question...

How many loads of trains arrived in average for the German Sixth Army during October 1942?

Have a deep, philosophical thought about that one, hey!!!

I may be picking up on the clue incorrectly, but is it 42?

Well, I suppose the short answer is nope...

But it is sort of a bad question...

Best luck,

I'm sorry if I wasn't precise enough, but I did mean have loads of trains arrived in average PER DAY...

Sorry,

As this quiz has sort of come to an abrupt halt after my previous question, I think it's a good idea that I'll post a new.
I'm doing research on Operation Wintergewitter at the time, so here comes a question with relevance to that operation:

Which unit did Oberleutnant Horst Scheibert command during Unternehmen Wintergewitter?

After the war he wrote several books about German panzers, as well as about the main division carrying out the German relief operation outside Stalingrad.
Hope this question is easier to answer, otherwise just ask for some clues

Scheibert, Horst. Received the DKiG on 03.02.1943 as an Oberleutnant in II./Pz.Rgt. 11.

He was Chef of 6.Kompanie during the Stalingrad relief.

Let's rephrase my question.

The first SS-Wiking StuG Batterei was reforming in September 1941, but it never materialized. The Battery was detached elsewhere.
But how about the next one, which actually was with 5. SS-Panzer Grenadier Division "Wiking"?
