Not sure if this counts; SS-Obersturmführer Armberger (Chef 8./SS-Panzer-Regiment 1) was credited with 5 tank kills with panzerfausts on 13.08.1944. Either the translation is wrong or in the proposal he got off his tank to use the panzerfausts. Technically he was with a Panzer..

Re: High Scorers with Panzers and Paks
This was the US part of the front, 3rd AD or 2e DB if anyone would like to try and run it down. I am always hoping we get one of these multiple kill-claims in the Commonwealth sector with enough detail to check it out. The details are always to vague to be able to verify them.Cult Icon wrote: ↑18 Feb 2021, 15:47https://www.tracesofwar.com/persons/281 ... ment-1.htm

Re: High Scorers with Panzers and Paks
From "German Cross in Gold Holders of SS and Police Volume 2" pg.52:
"During September 15 and October 16, 1944, Hauptscharfuhrer Mork commanded the only tank support for Regiment "Der Fuhrer" on the West Wall. Although his vehicle was not technically sound, Mork managed to repulse numerous enemy attacks of up to 20 tanks while inflicting losses on the enemy. Only Mork's rapid decisions, coolness under fire, and tactically flexible deployment of his vehicle allowed this. On the 16th, 19th, and 28th of September he destroyed seven enemy tanks in total while playing a decisive role in stopping enemy infantry attacks. As the only armor piercing weapon in the sector, Mork's tank prevented a breakthrough in the area of Regiment "Der Fuhrer" that was favorable to enemy armor deployment.
On December 24, 1944, Then Untersturmfuhrer Mork distinguished himself in the attack on Lamormenil. Leading his platoon on our open flank, while fighter planes attacked, he held his position until the rest of the unit could withdraw. During the engagement he destroyed three Sherman tanks. "

Hi Cult Icon,
ah, damn, you are right of course, one of his engagements leading to the DKiG was achieved on August 27th 1943 in the Charkow area (fighting against Russian infantry), but he was wounded on Sept. 1st and indeed he again gained some "points" for his DKiG recommendation in the autumn of 1944. Right.

Yes. The first entry is July 12, 1941. Second is August 27th, 1943.
The ones I copied are afterwards. The final entry is December 26, 1944.

Re: High Scorers with Panzers and Paks
Regarding schwere Panzerjager-Abteilung 654 - equipped with Jadgpanthers and deployed in the West:
Oberleutnant Erich Scheiber's German Cross in Gold proposal credits him with 6 tank kills on July 30, 1944.
On the night of 7/8 August 1944 he was credited with 1 "enemy heavy tank" destroyed. Given the time and location of this unit, this is probably code for "churchill".
Between August 11-12 1944 he was credited with 2 tank kills.
