Hello Sander,

there were several more in the last two months. But I haven`t saved them to my harddisk because there were only small pictures on Ebay.

Hello Bill,

I'm only searching German Ebay because some sections of foreign Ebay where WW II stuff is sold are blocked in Germany due to "Nazi" propaganda items.
Some of these very interesting photos are not easy to find. And that is the chance for me to buy them because I have not so much money like sudek13 and some of the other rich bidders.
Sometimes you can find them under Lkw, Lastkraftwagen, Technik or only WW II Foto. It is very time consuming so find every interesting photo. I'm not searching with keywords. I look to all interesting photos which are new that day. O.K. For a nativ German speaker this work is much easier than for others...

Regards, Holger.

Hi folks!

Does somebody know how many Mercedes Benz Typ L 10000 three axle 10 tonnes lorries were made?
I have read about a Mercedes Benz type L 8500. But I could not find any further informations or photos of this type. Are there any differences between this type and the Mercedes Benz type L 10000? Also in the Typenbuch 1937 this type is not mentioned...

Regards, Holger.

The endclosed text underneed this picture stated this vehicle is a beute Morris-commercial C8 with a WH plate number .
Picture was taken somewhere after the D-day landing.

Looking at it i would say it's a Morris commercial c8 Quad, only one thing won't fit.
I never seen a morris commercail C8 Quad with a cargobed???
I did some searching on google but coulden't find anny picture of this vehicle in this configuration with a cargo bed.

Did i overlooked it,or is it something els??????

Hi Sander:

I am not quite sure what you are looking for but here is a pickup on that chassis from VanderVeen's book.

Edit: Sorry I used the wrong scan setting but I think you can see what I mean.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the picture ,but it ain't a morris commercial C8 GS

I did some more searching and found this treath with the same picture as above ,on Mapleleafup forum .

http://www.mapleleafup.org/forums/showt ... stid=64244

They say the same thing ,this vehicle is a Morris Commercial C8 FAT (Quad)

Someone said :
Larry,

Going by the fact this is in Normandy, I do not think that was a GS version of a C8, the C8GS did not come into service until late 1944. The points to look at here are the flat section front wings and the outer top of windscreen frames slightly angled in. It was a C8 Field Artillery tractor. possibly captured in Dunkirk or thereabouts.

Richard
I was also looking at the point's he mentioned.
I did find a lot of Morris Commercial C8 FAT (Quad) pictures on google, but i coulden't find anny picture of the configuration that i mentioned ,a Morris Commercial C8 FAT with a cargobed.

Those handy germans rebuild it with a cargobed :D :D :D .

Regards

Sander

Evening Bill,

Can you say for sure what make of truck this is in use by US Army mail? It looks German to me like the house bodies you see on Opel Blitz.

Hi Larry:

Don't want to leave you hanging here, but there is so much clutter on the truck it is hard to ID.

This much I can make an educated guess about.
Probably a 3 ton 4X2 truck. Most likely a former telephone/telex/telephone repair truck judging by all of the pole materiel on top of the truck and the fairly typical arrangement of the side door and windows.

The closest I have come to based on the style of the rear mudguard/fender is a Borgward 3 tonner but I need to do some more photo research. They did do such vehicles.

Hi Holger,

sorry, only today I´ve found Your question to the Mercedes Benz truck L 10.000. In the book"Mercedes Benz Lastwagen und Omnibusse" by Werner Oswald You can find the numbers of the production of MB - trucks. The type L 10.000 truck type was produced 95 times, the bus type 386 times, the type L 8500 (both types: truck and bus) 85 times, between the years 1927 to 1945.

Bert
