I would like to find out a bit more about the following officers.

SS-Hstuf. Erich Fischer
SS-Hstuf. Wilhelm Martens
SS-Hstuf. Willi Christiansen
SS-Hstuf. Heinrich Pensel
SS-Hstuf. Zeidner
SS-Hstuf. Erich Steidtmann
SS-Hstuf. Otto Meckelburg(is he the same as SS-Ostubaf. Otto Meckelburg who was Ia with 'Generalinspektion der verstärkten SS-Totenkopf-Standarten' between 15-1-40 and ??-40).

I'm looking for DoB/birthplace, SS- and partynumber and DoD/place of death.
And if someone would have some more info about their ranks and career, that would be a great extra but it's not necessary.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello VJK,

Well, you did put Tjé finally out of his misery, now he also has the Christian name from these men.

I have some Köhlers in my files but none of them matched this one so I couldn't help him.
And about Ihrig I had totally nothing, so I'm also gratefull with this info.

Do you have something more as well about these two officers by any accident, like their SS-nr. and DoB??

Greetings,
Mike

Hello Phil,

Again thank you very much, this is always great info.
Like I said in the past, my files don't have to be that long(that's always nice of course), but the most
basic info is something I always try to gather(rank, DoB, SS- and partynumber).

So this info is indeed very welcome for these officers.

But what about Meckleburg??? Are they the same person and how is it possible that he was already Ostubaf. in 1940 while he was not promoted to Stubaf. before 1943???? Maybe a typing-error on that website???

Greetings,
Mike

Hey Harmel,

Indeed nice picture, thanks for sharing it with us.
I have Otto in my files but there's nothing about him being commander of 3/2nd SS Mtn Jager Regt.

So if I understand correctly, he was commander from 3. Kompany with II. Bataillon from an
SS-Gebirgs-Jäger-Regiment. But which one and from what Division(the 7th maybe)??
And in what period was he commanding this unit and as what, as SS-Hstuf???

Hope somebody can clear this up because I don't have this info in my file about him(there're some gaps).

Thanks,
Mike

I am answering to Harmel : the correct name of the magazine is "39-45 Magazine". Moreover, the author of the article about the 7th SS-Gebirgs-Division "Prinz Eugen" is not Georges Bernage but Charles Trang. But I totally agree with you about the fact that it is an excellent magazine with plenty of great photographs and in depth articles.
