Hi everybody! 8)
Here (below) are links to my article about Sowie Mountains (Eulengebirge) in Poland.
In the Sowie Mountains Nazis built in 1943-1945 the underground facilities and first underground Headquarters (ger. FHQ - Führerhauptquartiere) - project "Riese"(Giant).
Second underground HQ's Nazis built in Ohrdruf area (Jonastal) in 1944/1945 - project "Olga" or "Siegfried". "Riese" and "Olga/Siegfried" (in Thuringien) was build as part of large project S III /ger. Sonderbauvorhaben III/ - including all Germans HQ's.

Links about project "Riese":

Hello, I see also some realtions between Riese and S III (Ohrdruf). But ... do you have documents about this large project which you describe? I think that S III is only the alias to built the HQ/ FHQ in Ohrdruf. In this area was built one of the HQ's of the OKH - before WW2. German FHQ's are called sometimes S 3 - not S III (for all)

with kind regards

If anyone has any further information on any of this I'd greatly appreciate it. I've been watching this for a year or two now and it's been neat to watch the mystery unfold and try to fill in the gaps. And also, to clarify, what government is hiding the documents from the convoy and the ones discovered in 1945? Poland's Secret Service, or Russia and the NKVD, or the United States?

Knowledge level of "Riese" project stand still since years. There is no new discoveries, no new tunnels uncovered, there is no new documents ( or any new valuable rather), some new testimonies of hungarian jews inmates only. I am not even sure that exist any german document stated >>FHQ RIESE<<, part of them have just the context of FHQ, but most OBL (oberbauleitung). I really doubt that today goverments hiding anything from WWII. In my personal opinion documents on Riese projects are in US or UK Archives, but no one want to find them.

Best regards!

Don't forget about Russian archives, especially military archives. Did anybondy tried to dig there?
What about archives of private building companies still existing in Germany?
but no one want to find them
I would agree with with that. Do You want to find them?

Of course I do want to find them. But there is a mess in Russian archives, I really doubt in that direction - because it means another 100 years of research. If someone will dig in german private building companies involved in Riese project during war, will still have partial view for a little part of activity. It start be boring. Since 1945 we assemble "giant" puzzle without wider context and perspective. As I wrote before - I am personally sure that British or American intelligence had to collect information on Riese. For example from germans who worked for OSS like Gisevious or Kolbe
Best regards
Piotr
