Hello!

At my last visit at the BAMA for researching more about medical treatment in WWII I came across this document. It is from the Generalarzt and shows all casualties from Barbarossa to March 1945.

As questions and discussions about losses appear frequently I thought someone might find it interesting. NOTE: I reproduced the document with a graphic-program as the original copy is bad quality but I tried to make it look as the original.

Very interesting indeed.

Do you know why AOK Samland was called this way ? All the other AOK's have numbers. Just curious.

I made a photocopy of this some years ago but in the rush I lined it up wrong and have been missing the last column from OB Sudwest down-Thanks again.

Please note Edwin that AOK Ligurian is also mentioned and not by number.

Hi,

In fact there were several named armies, most of which were formed after March 1945:

AOK Lindemann (formed in Denmark, May 1945)
AOK Muller (formed in Schleswig Holstein, May 1945)
AOK Ostpruessen (formed in East Prussia, April 1945)
AOK Tirol (formed in Northern Italy in April 1945)

Two others had been formed previously:

AOK Lappland (formed from Jan 1942 to June 1942 when it was renamed 20th Mountain Army)

AOK Norwegen (formed between Dec 1940 and Dec 1944)
