Biddiscombe stated his name as Vladimir "Gil" Rodionov. I read somewhere before that the first name is Vassili.

I never heard the title SS Sonderformation before. The usual title for this unit in English is Druzhina SS Brigade. According to Biddiscombe, there is also a Russian prince inside this unit

3.Kompanie (der SS-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 11) "Swedenzug"
I know this is a old post, and I havent checked the whole thread so someone might have pointed it out before. It should be spelled "schwedenzug" and should anyhow not be in this list. The third company, or more correct: The 4th zug of the Third company did not have this name. It is most probebly a post-war fictional name based on the number of swedish volounteers in the unit.

The bundesarchiv states the following as planned SS-Division's ... the above are regularly quoted however the following in bold have rarely if ever had information put forward about them.

Enthält u.a.:
SS-Division "Wallenstein", SS-Division "Schwedt/Oder", SS-Panzer-Division "Reichsmarschall"
SS-Division "Waränger", SS-Division "Dietrich von Bern", SS-Gebirgs-Division "Andreas Hofer"
Ostafrikanische mohamedanische Division der SS, Ost-Muselmanische SS- und Polizei-Division

http://www.argus.bundesarchiv.de/N756-3 ... 3c4d8dbfc9

The Ost-Muselmanische SS is touched on below however not with 'und Polizei-Division' added.

Hi,
Also Ukrainian police unit "Murrawa", which in July 1944 as SD battaillon 23 was attached for a short time to the 30th SS Division. Was it named after its commander?

If you Google SS Sonderformation, many Russian sites, state this title, obviously or possibly an English version of the same name. However, as you are most aware, unit or formation in German is equivalent to Verband. I have seen the 'Druzhina' SS-Brigade also mentioned as SS-Verband „Drushina“. A simple Google search will confuse and confirm the issue for both titles, although there would only be one correct title. Which is it?
