Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Carius post - Very typical ex BEF Bedford truck , impressed civilian type with standard factory dropside body and pre 1938 cab . BEF in France had and lost literally thousands of these . Pre war Bedfords are rare in Britain to this day because most went to France in 1939.
Fortunately Canada was able to supply 1000's of new CMP trucks after Dunkirk to help replace the losses , the desert campaign would have struggled without them .
Peeved post above- second pic is a Scammell Pioneer Recovery Truck with the early type recovery crane , BEF lost hundreds of Scammell Pioneers ( all types) , have heard 700 , which they never really managed to replace right to the end of the war .

Guys
Does the Studebaker posted by Peeved on the previous page have a 'home made cab'?

Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Hi Larry:
The same photo appears on Holger's kfzderwehrmacht site and he is of the opinion it was probably one of the 6x4 variants supplied to the Russian forces and was originally a soft top cab version. He thinks the cab may have come from a ZIS 5 which seems reasonable as it looks pretty much the same.

Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Hi Markus:
I am not being picky, believe me, I appreciate all the photos you put up today, you must have been bored or it snowed in Finland again.
But, the panel truck is a 1940 Dodge, not a Chevrolet.

Re: Beute- and Umbauwagen
Hi Jose:
You are correct in that it is a 1934 Chevrolet.
It is a bit unusual in that it is a Standard Series that was introduced late in 1934 and had a one piece rear quarter window compared to the Deluxe Series that had an "opening" rear quarter window.
As there were apparently only about 11,800 of these cars produced in 1934, a small fraction of total Chevrolet production for that year, it must have been quite rare in Belgium.

WH is obvious but what TR means? Or WH/TR? Wehrmacht Transport? Wehrmacht Truppen?
