Seppo..those museums have one Stieglitz and pieces of a Ju 88..hardly an axis museum..or do you consider Finland axis power ?

Hopefully these photos may be of some interest, they were taken in 1988 by my friend Bruno Ehlich, who was an Air Force driver at the time, and he was part of the team that delivered the Australian War Memorial's Bf 109G from its storage facility in Sydney to the AWM in Canberra where it is currently on display in the aircraft hall there.

When I was visiting Munich in the late 1980s, the Deutsches Museum had a newly restored Dornier 335 A-0 (Do335) "Pfeil" [Arrow] on display. It had been restored at the Smithsonian NASM facilities. It was a floor display and one could get quite close to the aircraft without touching it. The aircraft which was restored with funding from Dornier is now back at the NASM Udvar Hazy hangar

It has been 50 years since I've visited the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, but their original display of aircraft included a Bf 109E "Emil" suspended from the ceiling along with the Ju 87 "Stuka". Next to them was a Supermarine "Spitfire" Mk1A. The museum's JU87R-2 Tropical, which was shot down in the last year of WWII in Libya, was gifted to the museum in 1946 by the British Information Series.

The Stuka is one of three in the world, the Museum of Science and Industry is one of two museums featuring fully complete StuKa aircraft. The other museum being the Royal Air Force Museum in London.

Before the U 505 was moved to it's new underground facility in front of the museum, it spent most of it's display life exposed the elements landlocked next to the east side of the museum buiding.

In 2012, crews worked to recover a sunken Ju 87 discovered under 60 feet of water in the Baltic Sea 4 miles off the German Baltic island of Rügen. The project is being overseen by the German Military Historical Museum in Dresden.

Following restoration the completed Do 335 was displayed at the Hanover, Germany Airshow from 1 May to 9 May 1976. After the air show, the aircraft was loaned to the Deutsches Museum in Munich where it was on display until 1986, when it was shipped back to Silver Hill, Maryland. VG+PH can be seen today in the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the National Air and Space Museum alongside other unique late-war German aircraft such as the only known example of the Arado Ar 234 B-2 Blitz jet reconnaissance-bomber, and the fully restored fuselage and tail surfaces of the only complete surviving Heinkel He 219A Uhu (Eagle-Owl) night fighter (the wings and engines/nacelles are still undergoing restoration).

Correction as to where "White 35" is, in 2016...
Dear Fellow WW II Aircraft Fans:
Bader's Briar here, and one is going to have to visit FLORIDA to see the world's only surviving Me 262B-1a trainer, "White 35"...
...it's at the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL, with its own page at the museum's website.
Sorry to see it in such a GLOSSY surface finish, though...could that even be authentic, by any chance?

I don't believe that the Bf 109G exposed in this Museum is the original, flown by Oberleutnant Willi Trabert
of 11./JG 300 "Schlawiner". There are serious doubts about the color of their number 3, red or green ?

Went to Krakow last year...the Me 209, or whats left of it is there. Pretty historic airframe, it really needs a better home.

Really nice. It's a good job that Nazi Germany didn't get the 335 produced earlier and in greater numbers than they did.

The Military museum in Johannesburg has beautiful examples of ; Bf 109G, Fw 190, and Me 262 tandem 2 seater. These together with a magnificent collection of SAAF aircraft. Well worth a visit.
