Open every Sunday between May - September

Split in 3 parts: The defence of Troms, The sinking of Tirpitz & the former coastal battery "MKB Tromsö Süd".
2 x 10,5cm SKC/32, 38cm Rag, 150cm scheinwerfer on display in the battery.
The Ammunition bunker has been filled with all kinds of equipment from Tirpitz. Both parts salvaged from the wrecksite, aswell as items donated by locals.

Camp Borden Museum,Borden Ontario.Lots of German guns scattered around.I found this...it looks like a 3.7cm Flak 43 twin type....side by side...am I right ? Kinda rare ?Thats a Pak43/41 88 in the background.

Lots of other stuff scattered around...an Sfh18 15 cm complete with carriage,several Pak 38's,Pak 40's.A 7.5 Pak97/38 with 1916 stamped in the breech,a Japanese field gun etc etc.Open all year round.

Yep,your right...it's a ZU-23-2 twin 23mm anti aircraft gun.....was used by the East German Army.Kinda looked German WW11 to me !
Camp Borden does have a lot of Axis equipment...well worth the trip.

A required listing has just got to the = Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defense =.

It's at MTR le metro stop Shau Kei Wan, about 8 stops from "Central", the main HK Side MTR hub. The museum is located in the former coastal defense fort protecting the eastern sea approach to HK port.

There is some Japanese material but the museum offers features usually not found. One display is an actual gun where the display charts explain how direct fire techniques accounting for trajectory were used. The gun is outside and the field of fire into the water channel below allows for understanding the aiming technique.

Recall the current TOW anti-tank missile. The original concept was from an Aussie whereas he developed a wire guided torpedo. The museum has displays of his invention.

On Wednesdays, HK museums usually have no entry fee.

Heritage Fortress Park - AB IV Battery (Skansen Fortyfikacji Pancernej Twierdzy Toruń).
Our museum is not Axis but Prussian but i hope it will be interesting for some of You. Armour Battery AB IV built in 1895 - 1896 is a part of the Toruń Fortress from XIX century (Prussian occupation). This special object is unique in the world. The revolving turret was containing the cannon of the 10 cm calibre. Conclusions from the construction and operatings let German build many other similar and modernized objects.
There are also other military objects near the AB IV Battery. You can find there two armour batteries for four howitzers each 15 cm calibre and half armoured battery for three 10 cm calibre cannons. Apart from that there are the main forts, intermediate forts for infantry, shelters, ramparts and remains of the military training ground buildings dating back the first half of the XX century.
Battery has been being renovated by the Society of Fortress Toruń (Toruńskie Towarzystwo Fortyfikacyjne). The objects are open on Sundays between 10am and 2pm between april and september. You can also make an appointment by e-mail: [email protected].
