The Marshall Islands - all north of Equator except Nauru which is to the south. Occupied in 1914 by Japanese except Nauru which was occupied by Australia - handed over to those countries after Treaty of Versailles.

Good Point. I had to look for myself first, where the islands started and stopped and where the Equator ran along.
But as far as I can see, the equator runs a few hundred Kilometres south of the borders, then and now.

That is true - but Nauru is not part of the Marshall Islands today it was handed over to Australia after WWI and Japan got the rest of the Islands(whitch became today's Marshall Islands) ... If you look at a list of German post offices in the German Marshall Islands you will find Nauru. Your German map above shows Nauru(upper left box) at 0.30S

Thanks for your explanation.
As far as I interpreted you; - you stated that the Equator touched German-Guinea. This is absolutely correct!
The Equator runs 1914 nearly 3000 kilometres through that German territory, - but only through water!

Also the Northernmost Island of the Kaniet-Island-Group which belongs Bismarck Archipelago, don´t touched the Equator.

Which German Colony touched (from 1911 to 1919) the Equator?

Neu-Kamerun / New-Cameroun. From 4. 11. 1911, 150 km of the territory were on the equator. This most-southern
extension, of the so-called `Sangha-Point´, should provide a connection to the Congo River. However, economic
and administrative development couldn´t be achieved in the three years leading up to the beginning of the Great War.

The title of this photo in a German book is:

About details of the uniform I have no idea.

It seems to be the picture below shows the same uniform from Musinga. However, the colours of the subsequently
coloured photograph do not look quite realistic. Or was there really light blue uniform; even if it was probably a phantasy
uniform? Unfortunately, I found no explanation of the photo-proof on the first pages of the below mentioned book.

I've been looking high&low on the net
for more info on medal and uniform.
Have come across a few hints here and
there and apparently Musinga did receive
gifts in the form of odds and ends and
textiles from the germans but never wore
them. Later it was repeated by the new
rulers, the belgians. One of the gifts was
a light blue uniform with gold braid...
wondering if this is what we see.
If so the images must be from after the
germans left.

Still looking for the medal, but belgian
now
