Thank you, Dieter, for the clarification. A description of the Putsch by Michael Freiherr von Godin of the Second Company of Landespolizei appears in "Hitler and the Beer Hall Putsch" by Harold Gordon. In the description, Hollweg is identified as Sergeant Hollweg. I will make a notation in the margin to reflect that Hollweg was a Polizeiunterwachtmeister. Am I correct in understanding that Hollweg's rank in Enlgish would be the equivalent of a private or trooper?

Best Regards,

Durand

Unterwachtmeister = Staff Sergeant
Hauptwachtmeister = Master Sergeant
Hilfswachtmeister = Staff Sergeant (Temporary Rank)
