Cemetery in Poland for German soldiers killed in World War II

ASSOCIATED PRESS

WARSAW, Poland, Oct. 5 — A cemetery containing the remains of about 13,000 German soldiers who died in southwestern Poland during World War II was inaugurated Saturday.
The remains of the soldiers were brought over the last four years to the cemetery at Nadolice Wielkie, near the city of Wroclaw. About 8,500 sets of remains have been identified.
During Saturday's ceremony, organized by a German association, family members planted trees in honor of the thousands whose remains have not been identified.
Germany invaded Poland in 1939. About 468,000 German soldiers died in the country during World War II.
