Walther PPK RZM 7.65

Hi everyone,

I also have a Walther PPK with RZM on the slide ser. # 833979. My father bought this gun back in the early 1950's, I was wondering if there is anything you can tell me about this. It comes with a AKAH holster and 2 clips one with finger rest. I am trying to figure out when it was made I am thinking around 1934?

So much history and so many variables on these guns and I would love to see the records of which members got issued these by serial # if that was even recorded like that. I would love to know who was issued my gun. One thing that puzzles me is my RZM PPK serial # 823xxx which puts a date of 1934 manf.

Political leader purchasers had to procure a Waffenewerbschein to be able to buy one of the RZM PPKs. The records in the Walther factory were either carted off by the Russians or burned. What is it that puzzles you about your RZM PPK?

I would like to know the original of the owner.

No such list exits. Those RZM PPKs were purchased by Political Leaders in groups or singly from local dealers or the Walther factory after procuring a Weapon Purchase Permit from local police authorities. These local records were destroyed, as were file documents at the Walther factory. Some of the RZM PPKs were purchased by the Gestapo and are marked with serial number stamped on the slide under the crown of the muzzle. Still others were offered to members of the SA.

I would take what is said in that video with a grain of salt. There is no definitive range for PPKs issued with the grips molded with the party insignia. No such period documentation exits. The only "ranges" established are by collectors and authors listing those pistols with grips that were reported to them. And as there is no way of knowing if those grips are original to the pistol or were added after the war by a collector or dealer, the so-called ranges are basically a fabrication. The only definite PL PPK are presentation pistols specifically awarded to political leaders for events such as shooting matches.
