Have you had any time to scan those photos? There is not much postwar information on Niel and it would be nice to confirm what you are saying about his leading the "Tanzkapelle" orchestra. The only account I can find of Niel is that he was a Russian prisoner after the end of the war and died in Berlin in 1954. There is also another (questionable....) report of his body being taken out of the cemetary by the Russians and moved to places unknown. I haven't had time to do any more research into this but I plan to do so in the near future. So as you can see there is some conflicting information.
