Thanks for more songcards! :) Notice that "Im Osten pfeift der Wind" is the Eastern Front variant of "Gegen Briten und Franzosen".

Cheers,
Ivan

Liebling, wenn ich traurig bin

Post by musketiii » 24 May 2007 14:11

I have tried the two usual German "word sites" with no luck. Has anyone the words and or the songcard to download? Many thanks

Ivan..I bought several LPs while stationed in german 1962-65. I had them put on CDs some years ago. I have "Ein Heller und ein Batzen" on my computer and Ipod. I also have London records "German Army Chorus" vol 1 and 2. I really appreciate the way you share your expertise.

Addition:

"The Tavern Waltz" (Herms Niel - Tedy Demey), recorded by Harry Harden and His Orchestra on Decca and Vocalion labels in the U.S.

Source: Richard K. Spottswood, Ethnic Music on Records - A Discography of Ethnic Recordings Produced in the United States, 1893-1942, Vol. I (Music in American Life).
