All sources I have claim that he wasn’t a member of the NSDAP, also in all issues of the Dienstalterslisten there is no record of him being a Party member.

But in his file there is a page with a note that he was indeed a Party member with NSDAP-Nr.7035171 joined 12.08.1939, his recommendation for the Ehrenblatt-Spange des Heeres gives a membership as of 1936?

He was expelled from the SS for a time, after clashing with Himmler, perhaps when this occurred he lost his NSDAP membership? That's only a guess on my part....

Can you show this file? I have seen his SS personel file, but I can´t seen an NSDAP number.
