Those bolt-action rifles are Model 1941 Italian Carcanos, meaning that this photo was probably taken after September, 1943.
He who lives by the sword, should train with it frequently.

Always found this an interesting photo of German paratroopers using a captured Browning M1919A4 medium machine-gun during the battle for Normandy.
